La historia de la ciencia en los libros de texto en la enseñanza

This research focusses on a qualitative analysis of the kind of history of science that has been spread through textbooks in Spain in the last third of the 20th century. This is a historical period with important social, political and economic transformations, which lead to several reform of the education system. The main analysis focuses on what kind of science popularization or science education was transmitted through textbooks. We will scrutinize several textbooks belonging to different publishers (Editorial Vicens Vives, Editorial Anaya, Editorial Casals). They will show diverse specific contents on history of science, which has been diffused in classroom to students as a captive audience. Thus, textbooks become kinds of popular science books, in which students get formal access to scientific culture.
